Shuttle bus

Imagine yourself soaking up the sun at the top of a mountain, gliding across inches of freshly fallen snow, immersed the path that the trees have created, as they tower over you all the way down the mountain. Skiing and snowboarding are two of the most participated winter sports throughout the country. In the 2014/2015 ski season, there were over 470 operating ski areas across the United States. Regardless of the destination, a weekend ski trip is an easy feat with the right essentials.

Planning a ski trip last minute may seem stressful, but with just a few simple steps, you and your friends could be off to a rejuvenating winter weekend escape.

4 Things to Consider Before Taking a Last Minute Shuttle Bus Ski Trip

Pack

Packing for a weekend ski trip is a quick process, and can always be done at the last minute. All you need is your chosen snow equipment (skis or snowboards), warm snow clothes that can be worn in many layers, and removed if necessary, as well as a helmet, boots, and some comfortable evening attire for hot chocolate and dinner at the end of the day.

Lift Tickets

We can’t help you decide where to shred the gnar, but we can tell you that lift tickets are vital to any ski trip. You can always buy lift tickets at the base of the mountain, but we advise that you do some quick research on your way out, and buy tickets from authorized retailers for a cheaper price.

Travel

Start your ski trip off with a shuttle bus. Packing cars full of winter sports equipment, gear, and attire makes for uncomfortable travel, while putting you and your belongings at risk, and can break up the good times to be had as a group. Take a shuttle bus instead! Many shuttle buses have seating for as many as 15 or 30 people, and provide designated storage space for all your belongings, without cramping the ride-along space of any passenger.

Stay

If you’re traveling for a day trip, you won’t need to arrange a lodge or hotel room to stay in, but if you and the crew are headed out for a weekend of winter activities, sleeping arrangements are a must. Most mountain times have plenty of options when it comes to hotels and inns. Depending on the size of your group, it might be beneficial to reserve a condo or cabin where everyone can stay for the trip.

All this planning is essential, and can be easily and quickly done before your last minute ski trip. By traveling on a shuttle bus, your last minute planning can even be done on the way, making for a seamless trip.
